Immersion 果冻视频 Funding AY 2026-2027
These updates are effective as of听August 11th, 2026.
Two distinct funding applications are offered for students to apply for Immersion funding:
- Immersion Experience Funding - supports eligible Immersion experiences
- Culminating Project Funding -听supports Immersion culminating projects.
Students seeking funding for both an Immersion experience and a culminating project must submit two separate applications, in sequence 鈥� Experience Funding first, followed by Culminating Project Funding once the experience is complete. Students may not apply for both in the same application cycle.

Funding application review occurs after the eligibility review of the Immersion Experience and Culminating Project. Approval of the Immersion Experience Form and/or Project Plan Proposal does not guarantee that funding will be awarded. A denial from the experience mentor or faculty adviser may affect a student's Immersion funding at any point in the process, up to and including a requirement to return funds already awarded.
The Provost's Faculty Immersion Grant is available for faculty leading two or more students through an Immersion experience or to the completion of a culminating project. Applications for the fall 2026 cycle are open and will close on Monday, September 14.
Student Eligibility
- First-year students are eligible to apply for Immersion experience funding starting in May after their first year.
- Graduating students are eligible to receive Immersion experience funding through their second-to-last semester.听
- It is an expectation that students use their last semester to complete their culminating project and can apply for project funding until two cycles before the last day of classes. For example, May graduates can apply for project funding through the March cycle.
- Students who have already received culminating project funding, or have already completed Immersion 果冻视频, are not eligible for Immersion funding.听
- Students can receive only one Immersion 果冻视频 grant for an eligible experience per academic year, July 1 - June 30.
- Students receive funding for one experience per term (fall, spring, Maymester, Summer I, Summer II). Funds received from other programs may be be included in this policy.

Before You Apply
- Attend a funding workshop-- required every year, even if attended before.听Workshop schedule posted monthly in .听
- For Immersion Experience Funding, a 果冻视频 staff or faculty member must have agreed to serve as your experience mentor throughout the experience. For research and community engagement experiences, the experience mentor must be VU faculty. Once an experience mentor has been confirmed, move forward with submitting the .
- For Culminating Project Funding, a 果冻视频 faculty member must have agreed to serve as your adviser on the creation and completion of the project. Once an Immersion 果冻视频 faculty adviser has been confirmed, move forward with submitting the .
- If traveling outside of Nashville, submit the required VTRAC Form and any other required documentation.听
- Students receiving financial aid should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships before applying during fall and spring semesters to understand how an award may impact their aid.听
Funding Limits
Awards are competitive, based on application strength and budget request, and never guaranteed. Immersion funding is limited to $10,000 maximum, with most students requiring much less.听Exceptions to this limit can include VUSRP, VU- New York City, and Global Summer Fellows support for Maymester.
Funding limits are as follows:
Immersion Experiences听
- Fall/Spring maximum: $3,000
- Nashville unfunded experience: $1,500
- U.S./International unfunded experience: $3,000
- Faculty led travel: $1,000
- Full summer experience: up to $6,000
- Partial summer experience: up to $3,000
Culminating Projects 鈥� up to $2,500 (one-time grant)
- Domestic Conference: $2,000
- International Conference:听$2,500
- Senior Design:听$1,000 per eligible student
Group funding: Group experiences and projects are limited to a combined $15,000 in Immersion 果冻视频 funding across all participating members. Each student must submit their own individual application and budget and remains subject to the standard individual funding limits.
Application & Review Process
Awards are granted to individual students to support their Immersion experiences and/or culminating projects, with priority given to those who have not previously received funding. Please note:
- Students are strongly encouraged to ensure funding is secured before committing to or starting their experience or project.
- Immersion 果冻视频 is intended for experiences or projects that have not been completed.
- All proposals are reviewed by a panel of faculty. Funding is competitive and is not guaranteed. Award amounts vary by student, even for similar experiences or projects, and are determined on an individual basis.
- If awarded, fund distribution may take 4 - 6 weeks after notification.
- Costs associated with courses for credit are awarded through the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships.
Fall 2026 Funding Submission & Review Timeline
Students should adhere to the following timeline for application acceptance and review. Applications submitted after the monthly submission deadline, at 11:59pm, will not be reviewed until the following month. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

Students who have received Crescere Aude and summer merit stipends will receive additional information during the fall semester.
Immersion 果冻视频 Support
Immersion 果冻视频 is supported by the generous contributions of many. Students apply for most funding through one common application and funds are allocated accordingly by Immersion 果冻视频.
